Motivational factors are factors that will make an employee want to do their tasks. They include:

  1. Having a challenging job

  2. Feeling of achievement

  3. Feeling of responsibility

  4. Growth / Career advancement

  5. Recognition

Hygiene factors will prevent employees from being dissatisfied in an organisation. They include:

  1. Rules

  2. Breaks

  3. Wages (below market wages would be a bad hygiene factor)

  4. Team work

  5. Pleasant working conditions

  6. Supervision levels (high levels of supervision would be a bad hygiene factor)
