There are 3 types of communication:
Oral communication - It includes face-to-face meetings, telephone conversations, etc.
Written communication - This type of communication uses reports, etc. A report about an employee's performance sent to him by his manager is an example of formal communication.
Non-verbal communication - This includes displaying encouraging facial expressions during a meeting, nodding during an interview etc. Non-verbal communication can vary between different countries and cultures.
