Project Planning - Overview 1 / 2

The Planning Stage involves:

Preparing a baseline plan for each project, as this provides a clear definition of how the project scope will be accomplished on time, to budget and using available resources.

A number of detailed plans will be drawn up. They are:

  1. A time plan - This plan includes estimated completion date of activities and the project as a whole.

  2. A cost plan - This plan is used to create a budget for the project.

  3. A quality plan - It details the standards that must be maintained in order to ensure a successful development process.

  4. A resource plan - It checks peaks and troughs of workload to ensure the plan is feasible and lists purchases to be bought.

  5. A contingency plan - It includes contingency plans for key risks.

  6. A communication plan - It identifies members of the project team, planned methods of communication, etc.
