Human Relations School 18 / 21

According to the ‘Human Relations School’:

interpersonal relationships are a key part of determining workplace behaviour.

According to Fielder, managers can either by psychologically close or psychologically distant.

If a manager does not get on well with employees who report on her and does not have real power to punish or reward the staff, the manager should adopt a psychological distant management style.
