The following are in addition to parental leave:
Trade Union duties
Look for other work after being told of redundancy
Public duties eg being a magistrate (though not for jury service)
Maternity Rights and Work/Life Balance
A pregnant woman has rights to:
Time off for ante-natal care
Ordinary and additional Maternity leave
Maternity Pay
Return to work after maternity leave
If dismissed - claim for unfair dismissal
Health and Safety
This includes proper training, safe environment etc
Working Time
Average working time for a 17 week period (including overtime) should not exceed 48 hours for each 7 day period
(unless the worker agrees in writing)
