The characteristics of a team should include that team members:
Enjoy working together
Share a common goal
Are committed to achieve objectives of the project
Are from diverse backgrounds
Are loyal to the project and the project manager
Have a firm belief in what the project is trying to achieve
Have team spirit
The life cycle of a team according to Tuckman and Jensen has five stages.
They are: Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, and Dorming.
According to Belbin, there are 9 team roles and all of them should be fulfilled for a team to be effective.
They include: the coordinator, shaper, plant, monitor evaluator, implementor, resource investigator, team worker, completer-finisher, and expert.
